My Thoughts on Brandon Broadwater and Higher Laws

A friend of mine was starting his own construction company and I asked him if he was concerned about knowing everything in order to start and run a company by himself. He shared with me how there would always people who would know more than he did in different areas and that his plan was to make sure to hire them, so that he could learn from them.

What a freeing thought. That really impressed upon me how important it is to be open and willing to learn from others.

In my life I continuously seek to learn from great books, amazing people, and from opportunities that come my way. One of those opportunities came our way through some wonderful friends who bought tickets for us to attend a Higher Laws event with them.

If you were to ask me to share my thoughts on Brandon Broadwater and the Higher Laws Event we attended, I would tell you that I discovered that a smart person is not someone who has all of the answers, it is someone who knows how and when to ask the right question, They will know who to ask, and will then apply that knowledge by taking action quickly.

This is one of the great characteristic found in Brandon Broadwater. He shares many experiences that demonstrate this. In his life it is clear that he has been prompted from within to  asked great quality questions; to the right people; at optimal times. The results are evidence that he quickly implements what he learns into his life.

So many times I have gone through life seeking to find solutions to different situations and have had questions in my mind which have just remained inside. After attending Higher Laws events I now have a much greater awareness of my thought patterns and what kind of results they will produce.
I now ask great quality questions daily; I experience more clarity and awareness in my life, especially in decision making. Instead of being driven by the circumstances of life, I love the positive results that are coming as I strive to take action on my knowledge of principles.

Master Your Power Within teaches principles that have the ability to transform lives. I have seen this happen at each event I attend.

Middle-March

Wow! It is said that by the end of March most goals will be forgotten. Today we are in the middle of March and I am reminded of the power of a fresh start, a re commitment, a re-boot to keep on track. Goals will at times be forgotten, dropped or masked over by other things that come along. One thing I have noticed in my efforts to set goals is that the more important the goal or decision the quicker the distractions may show up. sometimes these distractions will show up in a big way and yet other times they will show up in a very subtle ways that may go unnoticed.
Here are some things that I have found to be helpful.
  1. Set an meaningful goal. Know your why and make it bigger than yourself.
  2. Write your goal down as if you have already accomplished it. How does it feel and look like in your life and the lives of those that you love.
  3. Inspiration can come and go quickly so write it down quickly.
  4. Set small obtainable goals along the way. Small and simple things bring about great things over time. (More details).
  5. Take daily action.
  6. Put reminders in key places.
  7. Find a supportive and reliable partner and check in regularly.
  8. Set a specific time to accomplish the small steps along the way. Celebrate the small gains.
  9. Be aware of distractions. As your awareness increases let the distractions become a reminder  of what is most important to you, evidence your going in the right direction.
  10. Remember that 2 steps forward and 1 step back is to be expected. (More details.)
  11. Ask yourself quality questions to refresh your personal power.
    • What is working?
    • Where am I holding back? What can I do even better today?
    • What will my life be like in one year from now if I accomplish this goal?
    • What is something I can accomplish right now?

Whatever!!!

As a person with a drive to improve, grow and make a difference for good each day I uncovered a false belief at work in my life, and when I uncovered it I became more positive and much more productive.

Can you recall the last time you just wanted to throw your arms up in the air and say
" Whatever, I give up"? Or a time when you were making every effort to be extremely helpful, only to find out that your helpfulness caused another person distress?

It was during these kinds of experiences that I would ask myself a terrible question like " If my best isn't good enough then Why bother?"

These thoughts led to emotions of hopelessness and despair, which then created a zillion negative thoughts multiplying in my head and halting my progression.
In my seeking for answers I am so grateful for a simple awareness that has made a great difference.

Can you imagine what would happen in your own life if instead of feeling helpless, or like what you do doesn't really matter you actually felt empowered, calm, courageous and confident in your abilities to make a positive difference?

Here is that one little thing that really helped me to have a fresh understanding...

Two steps forward and one step back is to be expected. I first heard these words from Brandon Broadwater at a Higher Laws Event now called Master Your Power Within a few years ago.

Now when set backs come, and they do regularly, instead of saying "why bother? I hear "it's to be expected " echoing in my mind. With that thought I am reminded that a piece of the puzzle is still a part of the solution, and from where I started I am still further ahead.

So the next time you feel like saying "why bother?" Take a deep loving breath for yourself, look for a small moment to see what ground you have gained, what lessons you have learned and gather them  to your heart and put them in your back pack to use on your journey and just keep going...

Two steps forward and one step back it's to be expected. And it is also called PROGRESS!!!!
